THIS WEEK'S ACTIVITIES

News from the Band Hall

CLEAN marching unifoms were March 5th.
Please remove trash and personal items from garment bags/hatboxes before turning them in.
Leave them on the racks in the hallway.
Details and Cleaning Instructions

Middle School UIL Competition will be held at Anderson this Tuesday and
Wednesday, March 9 and 10. The Band Hall, Orchestra Room and Ensemble Room
and attached hallways will be off limits for AHS students.
Band classes will meet in the cafeteria on these days.
Full Orchestra will meet earlier in the morning on both days for rehearsal.
Murchison Bands play Tuesday at 9:30 and 4:45 and Wednesday at 3:45.
A friendly audience is always welcome!

Yard signs will be available in the Band Hall
for pick up on Thursday March 11
please make sure to get the one with YOUR name on it

Please make sure your Spring Trip payments are up to date!
final payment due March 12th

Full Orchestra UIL Competition is this Thursday at Westlake High School.
We will post the time as soon as we know in case you want to attend.

Spring Break is next week and classes will resume on Monday, March 22.

(for Fall 2010 Marching Band)

Monday, April 12 5-6:30 pm-8th graders only
Tuesday, April 13 5-6:30 pm-8th graders only
Monday, April 19 5-7 pm-grades 8-11
Tuesday, April 20 5-7 pm-grades 8-11

These camps will determine what each percussionist will play during the
fall marching season 2010.
All percussionists need to meet in the band hall at the beginning of each camp.

PLEASE support the Senior Class of 2010
The Project Graduation committee is once more
selling Geraniums to help fund this fabulous after-graduation party
for our Senior Class

Project Graduation is an all night drug and alcohol free party thrown by the PTA on the night of graduation.
This is a nationwide program done by most high schools.
Every student gets a gift bag and door prizes are given out all night.
The goal is to have every senior attend and be safe on the night of graduation.
Historically we have had over 80% participation.

We have begun our search for officers and committee chairs
for the band booster association for next year. Keep in mind
that there is no position that can not be shared, so if you and
some friends would like to work together, that's great!

The Anderson Jazz Band is planning to attend the Temple College Jazz
Festival
this year on Friday, March 26th. We would like to have a number of
volunteer parents willing to carpool the band to Temple that morning, and stay
with us through the band's performance at 1:00, and the evening's feature concert.
The band is 22 students, so we would need several large capacity vehicles,and with more parents along, we have the benefit of a larger audience.
You do not need to be a jazz band member's parent to help us out.
Please check your calendars and contact Mr. Bergdorf if you are interested at

If anyone took pictures of the band in costumes or a video of any of the halftime at the game, or fun in the stands, or Halloween week halftime,
please consider sharing them by sending them to the Webmaster.  We can put them on the website now and use them later in this year's DVD.

Parade photos and video are welcome also!
