Greetings Trojan Band Fans,

CONGRATS to our fine arts department and all the students and teachers that participated in the production of BEAUTY AND THE BEAST!  I had the chance to see it Friday night and it was fantastic!  So many hours of work go into that collaboration and those students and directors have so much to be proud of!  BRAVO!!!

This week we have our January POPS concert on Tuesday night.  This is a short, fun concert that we put on in January as we start our UIL preparation.  We pair one UIL piece (early in the stages) with one ‘fun’ piece.  It helps us to get an early, raw push on the UIL repertoire and mix something fun in as well.  Call time for all groups is 6:15pm – be dressed and ready IN warm up locations.  Make sure you have double checked your concert uniform on Monday to make sure it’s located, clean and organized.

MULCH is coming up!  The Anderson Band Boosters are doing their second annual MULCH DRIVE!  This is a huge fundraiser for us – more information will be coming in the next few days but I wanted to prompt you to have it on your radar.  WHY is this important???  It helps us keep fair share lower….along with Flamingo-ing, the Mulch drive offsets some of the band’s BIG expenses of marching band drill (10,000), Music arrangement (5,000) the big semi trailer (~8,000) guard and marching instruction and consultants plus summer band masterclasses (20,000), Band banquet and socials, Letter jackets for seniors….and much more!!!  Get everyone in the neighborhood ready to buy some TROJAN BAND MULCH!!!!

Pianist rehearsals for Solo and Ensemble start THIS WEEK!  Do not forget to bring your $50 pianist fee for when you see them.  Rehearsal times have been posted in the band hall for the past week.  You will not get the opportunity to make up the rehearsal if you miss your time but you will still have to pay the fee so please stay on top of this!  Mr. Cleveland and the pianists have worked very hard to make sure these rehearsals are set up for you.

Thursday is a LATE START – if you have sectionals, they will happen as they usually do, just an hour later than ‘normal’ start time.

COMING UP:

January 29 – Pops concert at Anderson:  Concert wear; 6:15 call time for students, 7pm start time for concert

January 31 – LATE START

February 9 – SOLO and ENSEMBLE (Mandatory for WE and SB) you will need to dress in ‘Sunday Best’ for this event.  We will post times this week.
