Greetings!
Congratulations to all of the students who auditions for the region orchestra winds and percussion section this Saturday. Winning spots in the region orchestra were Anisa Rajab on clarinet (also advancing to AREA auditions), Tessa Goeser on oboe and Owen Chance on Contrabassoon. GREAT JOB Anderson Trojans!!
No more marching band rehearsals! Please wash your marching uniform and return it by Friday of this week. WATERBOTTLES must go home no later than Tuesday!
This week we will continue our work on region music in wind ensemble as well as individual instrumental assignments in symphonic and concert band. We will be working on our theory units weekly: We will teach concepts on Monday and then review the Monday concepts each day of the week culminating in a quiz over the weekly theory material on Friday. We will be doing this in all classes.
Indoor Drum Line and Winter Guard are starting up here in the next few weeks. Information regarding those activities will be coming home from Mr. Henry and Mr. Taylor throughout the week.
Region Auditions (required for all students in Wind Ensemble) will be taking place November 29 and December 1 at AKINS High School.
Next ABBA Meeting is December 3 at 6:30pm in the Band Hall.
Region Band Clinic and Concert is December 7 and 8 – December 7 will be here at Anderson and December 8 rehearsals and concert will be at the Austin ISD Performing Arts Center.
Winter Concert – December 11 at 7pm in the Anderson Theater.
