Greetings!

We are coming up on a busy couple of weeks for our band student with involvement in the musical production, Region Band and All-City Band.  Please make sure you have noted that we removed Winter Clinic from the band calendar.  Once Region band and All-City were scheduled all back to back with the musical in the month of January we took Winter Clinic off to give the students one weekend back.  We have several clinicians working with the students during our classes as we approach UIL in the meantime – looking forward to some great guests!

REGION BAND CLINIC AND CONCERT THIS FRIDAY AND SATURDAY – if you are in the pit, there is no Musical conflict for you – you will go to region band.  There are a few others involved in the production and acting that I have met with Mr. Malone about.  If you have questions about how musical/region band coexist this coming weekend please see Mrs. Gonzalez or Mr. Malone.  Region band students will be bused to the AISD PAC Friday (Jan 20).  They will rehearse from 1-4pm, dinner will be provided, and they will rehearse again from 6-9pm that night.  Please note they will need a ride home from the AISD Performing Arts Center. Saturday (Jan 21) they will rehearse from 1-4pm, break briefly to change and then the performance will happen at 5pm.  There is not enough time between the rehearsal and concert to leave the premise, so please eat a big lunch before you come and bring plenty of snacks.  Dress attire for the performance is your concert black dress/tux.  Be sure to bring it with you to Saturday’s rehearsal.

WINTER GUARD WILL REHEARSE Saturday (Jan 21) from 1-8pm.

JANUARY 24 Anderson will be hosting a district pep rally celebrating public schools.  ALL band students will be released for this special campus event from 10:30-11am.  Please wear your “TANGO” shirt.

January 25 – Dr. Scott Hanna, Director of the Longhorn Band and Associate Director of Bands for UT will be on campus for a clinic with Wind Ensemble.

ALL-CITY Band (Jan 27, 28) – Students will travel to the Performing Arts Center for a rehearsal from 2-9pm.  Dinner is provided.  They will need transportation from the PAC at the end of the evening rehearsal.  Saturday’s rehearsal meeting from 9am-noon with a concert at 2pm.

ANDERSON’S MUSICAL PRODUCTION of ‘CURTAINS‘ will feature several students from the band performing in the musical pit, on stage and in production as well as the Trojan Band Dance Guard!  Please come support our hard working students in their performances January 26, 27, 28 and 29!  It’s going to be great!

BASKETBALL BAND – Come support the Girl’s Basketball Team Tuesday, January 31!!!  Call time is 6:30 in the band hall.  See Chase Latson for details!

SOLO AND ENSEMBLE is coming up SATURDAY,  FEBRUARY 18!  Pianist rehearsals will start two weeks prior.

Everyone have a great week!
