Greetings Trojan Band Fans!
Great job this weekend to the Jazz Band and the Dance Guard on their performances! Dance guard was beautiful in their three performances of the Spring Show, and Jazz was awesome Sunday at the NWACA Day in the Park!
Leadership Applications are due Monday, April 29!
CONCERT AND MARCHING UNIFORMS are now PAST due! They will be entered as grades this week. If you have questions see a band director!
May 1 is the Anderson/Murchison jazz concert ‘Swingin’ in the Spring’ featuring a fabulous guest soloist, Andre Hayward! Mr. Hayward is one of the premier jazz trombone players – and at one time held the position of Lead Trombone for Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra! Come join the jazz programs Wednesday night at 7pm in the Anderson Theater to get in the groove!
Thursday is a LATE START, and Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band will have a guest performance by a brass quintet from the Austin Chamber Music Society.
Guard, now that the Spring Show is over we have some fun opportunities to look forward to! This week you will have a guest clinician working with you, Herbert Washington! Mr. Washington is one of the most highly regarded guard directors in the area. He came from one of the most prestigious HS marching band programs in Indiana and we are lucky to have him in for the week working with us. Make sure you are organized and ready to go! He will be here Monday and Wednesday. You also have a FIT session scheduled for Friday that you may sign up for.
LOCK-IN is this Friday! Doors open at 9pm and are locked at 9:30pm. You may not enter beyond that point unless you have made arrangements with band directors. You will be ‘locked in’ until 7am the next morning, so bring everything you will need. We will have pizza, snacks, games, movies, laser tag!!! PARENT SIGNUP HERE. **We need full parent involvement to make this event happen safely. WE NEED ALL HANDS ON DECK! If by Wednesday at 10pm the parent volunteer sign up genius is not 100% full, Mrs. Gonzalez will cancel the Lock IN. **
