Greetings Trojan Band Fans,

AWESOME NEWS from the Indoor Drum Line!  The traveled to College Station yesterday to compete at State and earned 8th out of 28 teams!  Huge congrats to the students and Mr. Taylor and Mr. Nedley!  We are very proud of you!

This week and going forward there will be quite a bit of testing.  There are a variety of testing schedules based on your courses, your grade, your schedule, etc…. so please look at your April and May testing/exam/IB/AP schedules starting now and communicate with your private lesson teacher alternate lesson times if you have a test during your normal lesson time.

MULCH!!! It’s a huge delivery week for mulch and we need all hands on deck!  We have shifts going out Thursday, Friday and Saturday to try and ensure we beat the rain and get done early on Saturday.  PARENTS AND STUDENTS SIGN UP HERE TO HELP WITH MULCH DELIVERY.  We also need parent drivers for the trucks and follow-cars!  Pizza dinner for all volunteers Thursday night and Friday night and Pizza lunch on Saturday!!  Coffee and breakfast for our Saturday morning helpers!  FYI:  Something that folks found helpful last year was a back support and gloves – if you have one of these and are working shifts or have some you would like to lend that would be so appreciated! 

For the mulch spreading, we will be needing to borrow ‘spreading’ tools such as rakes, gloves, etc.  If you are willing to let us borrow those items, please send them to the band hall by Thursday morning clearly labeled with your name to ensure safe return.  Email Ms. Gonzalez if you are willing to lend tools for the weekend!

SPRING MARCHING CAMP is April 16-18 (Next Week!) from 5-7pm!  We will have the parent show off in the Large Gym at 6pm on Thursday!  This is mandatory for ALL GUARD AND BAND MEMBERS grades 9-11!  Show reveal is next Monday~!!!!!  Letter jacket fittings will happen for next year’s seniors on Wednesday of Spring Band Camp.  Packets will go home this week!
Anderson City Limits is TUESDAY, March 23 (Mandatory for all Band and Guard) in the Anderson Court Yard!  Schedule for each section is coming out this week!
SPRING SHOW for the Dance guard is April 25, 26, 27! 
Leadership Applications are due April 29!

Jazz Band Announcements

Longhorn Jazz Festival, Saturday, April 13th

PARENTS – our performance is at 2:30 on Saturday at UT! Come watch!

Due to a couple of circumstances and testing happening this week (so no rehearsal Tuesday OR Thursday…), we will rehearse at Anderson from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM on Saturdayin preparation for Longhorn Jazz Festival. (Let me know if you were planning on mulching). Then, we’ll head straight to campus. Our warmup is at 2, so we want to be there by 1:30 to make sure we get checked in, etc. Bring a snack to eat after rehearsal.

You’ll then be on your own to enjoy the remaining performances, go to dinner, and come to the evening concert (if you bought a ticket). Speaking of which, bring me money for your ticket if you have not already! The night concert starts at 7:30 and tickets can be purchased here.


We’ll meet outside of Bass Concert Hall.
IMPORTANT- The UT spring football game is on the same day. Being right up the street from the stadium, it’s likely that parking at the Butler School of Music will be VERY difficult. Please plan accordingly!
