Greetings!

It was a VERY VERY busy weekend for the Trojan Band and Guard!  Lots of events happening at once – here is the rundown:

  • Congratulations to the WINTER GUARD on their first competition this weekend!  They traveled to Georgetown on Saturday to compete, earning 5th place in their division.  WAY TO GO GUARD!  We look forward to your next performance in a couple of weeks!

  • The Anderson ‘local’ Solo and Ensemble was a great success with lots of awesome feedback from judges.  We will pass out critique sheets and ratings in class tomorrow as well as announce who advances to the Anderson Solo FINALS Competition February 28.   All students receiving a 1 or 1C from the Bowie contest are automatically qualified along with the judge nominations from the Anderson Contest.

  • Several students traveled to Bowie to perform in the UIL Solo and Ensemble category!  Advancing to the STATE Solo and Ensemble Contest by earning a 1C:  Kayleigh Churchett, Blake Anderson, Owen Chance, Jenaro Diaz, Steven Oh, Nick Tesmer.  Congrats!!

  • Saturday afternoon the following students served as a marching squad for the University of Texas Longhorn Band Drum Major Auditions:  Jacob Cloud, Bronte Pratt, Josef Ybarra, Sam Bowman and Matt Kennedy

This week there will be NO Wind Ensemble SECTIONALS due to Ms. Gonzalez being gone to TMEA Convention the latter part of the week.  Instead, there will be a Smart Music assignment on Southern Harmony.
