Greetings Trojan Band Fans!

We have come to the week of our first football game – the TACO SHACK BOWL!  Make sure your student has their summer uniform washed, (pressed if the shorts require it) and ready to go!  They will need to bring everything they need for the game with them to school that day.   In a different post I’m going to include what your typical ‘game day’ looks like for those new to band.

We are still in need of volunteers for CATERING to serve the dinner meal for those that ordered – if you are available get more information HERE.

  • There is a new CLEAR BAG policy for AISD stadiums.  Please make plans in advance for this new stipulation.

  •  At House Park – Gates will open one hour before game time, and the game starts at 7:30.

NO outside FOOD or DRINKS are allowed to be brought into the stadium.  Concessions are available for spectators.  Parking is limited at the south end of the stadium. The ACC Parking Garage is available at no charge after 6:30pm for Thursday games and 5:30pm for Friday games.

  • BAND MEMBERS – NO FOOD IN THE STANDS!  Parents, if your child has a need please let us know so we can work it in, otherwise please parents resist the urge to bring your child concession food in the stands.  We provide them with bus snacks and waters on the way home and we encourage them to bring snacks for the bus ride TO and FROM as well as eat a big dinner before they get on the bus.  They will have their blue Coleman Coolers in the stands and it’s part of their inspection grade.

YARD SIGNS for ALL freshmen and new students were distributed this past Monday.  We still have quite a few that did not make it home – we will be passing the remaining signs out after Monday evening’s rehearsal.  Please remind your student to grab it before they hop in the car!  Yard signs are a gift to all new families from the Anderson Band Boosters!

The band calendar has all band events for the year (everything that we can possibly know of or think of) on it.  Please subscribe and update your own personal calendar with these events!  Anything marching band applies to band AND dance guard.  All events – rehearsals AND performances are required for all students and are a performance grade.

Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band students will need concert instruments on FRIDAY of this week – all other days we will do marching instruments.

David Urban will be posting videos of every performance on his YouTube channel.  He is our videographer and shoots every performance for our review and study.  If you want to be able to view these – you will need to be a member of the band app as he posts the private links there.  At the end of the season he will make all links public.

GOOD NEWS from this summer…… The Anderson Wind Ensemble advanced to AREA in the honor band process!  Congrats to the Wind Ensemble for their performance of Vientos y Tangos, Holst Suite and Pathfinder of Panama!  We are very proud of your hard work!
