Greetings!
I hope everyone enjoyed the rainy weekend and stayed dry! This week we will still rehearse as usual. If it is raining terribly we will move rehearsals inside. If it is a slight trickle in the evenings we will try to get on the lot as much as we can without instruments in case we have to duck inside for plan B. Please help your student devise a system to remember their water jug each day – we have had several forget and that becomes a safety hazard.
We have a busy week ahead of us with our first game! Please come to the Taco Shack Bowl Thursday night to cheer on the Anderson family of band, football, cheer and belles! Parking at House Park can be tricky so plan to arrive early to ensure you find a spot. It’s going to be a great evening! The Catering Committee is still short on help – they need about 8 more people to help with the pre-game meal Thursday night. If you can help serve the band their meal please email Dana at danastebler@gmail.com. You will have a great time!
This week we will launch our ‘individual’ fundraiser of World’s Finest Chocolate ( Anderson HS Band Parent Letter Fall 2017 (1) ) as an opportunity for students to earn fair share for remaining payment blocks. Our fundraising representative will talk to classes Wednesday and Thursday and chocolate sales will begin Friday (Sept 1) and go for 2 weeks. Students earn $30 profit per box sold, and 100% of the profit they sell goes toward their fair share account. After the 2 week fundraiser has ended on Sept 15, students’ accounts will be credited with their sales and outstanding and upcoming fair share amounts will be due on appropriate dates. This is an OPTIONAL fundraiser.
This Thursday, we will have our first PEP RALLY! Due to the construction on the large gym, we will not have our traditional pep rally, but will hold a pep rally during lunch in the courtyard. This will involve drum line only for this go-around. Please wear your show shirt, more info will come in class this week.
Monday, Sept 4 is a holiday with NO SCHOOL. We will slide the guard and percussion rehearsal to Tuesday, Sept 5 5-7pm and have a full rehearsal on Tuesday. No rehearsal on Monday Sept 4. We will also have a LATE START that Thursday and will rehearse from 7:30-9:30am.
