Greeting all Anderson Band Families!  The start of the 2018-2019 band season is here and we are looking forward to kicking off the season together at the Annual Band Picnic!  This is a fun time to meet other Anderson Band Parents, put names with faces of kids your child has been talking about, catch up with old band friends and meet new ones!  (AND don’t forget to check out the different committees that still need your help!)
The whole family is welcome including younger siblings.  The students will start “Famingoing” right after the picnic. (see Band Blast for details).  Practice will end at 5:00 p.m. so please plan on being at the school ready to enjoy dinner with your student at 5:00 and bring plenty of food to share.
When – Monday, July 30, 2018
Time – Food Drop off begins at 4:30. Dinner begin at 5:15 and students leave at 6:30.
Where – Anderson Cafeteria – Please note this is a change from the postcard.
What to bring – PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN DRINKS (And consider bringing a case of water to share for those that forget.)  See the food list below by grade.
If you can give your time with set up or clean up, please email Emily Gunning at egunning@sbcglobal.net or Missy Strittmatter at mdodge924@gmail.com

PLEASE BRING A DISH TO SHARE ACCORDING TO YOUR CHILD’S GRADE LEVEL – SEE BELOW

Freshmen and Sophomores – MAIN DISH –easy to pick up items work best
HOT DISHES: Pizzas – lots of different types – but cheese, sausage, and pepperoni are always popular!
Fried chicken, chicken nuggets – don’t forget the sauce!
Taquitos/Samosas/Egg Rolls – anything creative is appreciated!
Meatballs/crescent roll, sausage bites
COLD DISHES:  Finger sandwiches, tortilla roll ups, subs (cut into portions)

Juniors- SIDE DISH – Please don’t forget to bring a serving spoon or tongs if possible
COLD DISHES:  Homemade green, potato, fruit, and pasta are very popular!  (FYI – store bought Macaroni and coleslaw have not historically done well.)
Fruit/Veggie trays – easy to pick up and many kids love this as a side.
HOT DISHES: Macaroni and cheese, corn on the cob, baked potato wedges or skins, roasted veggies
YOUR FAMILY FAVORITE:  Like the main dish, we welcome your addition and creativity!  Thanks!
Seniors – DESSERT – If you bring a baked dish, please bring a serving spoon.
Cookies, Brownies, Rice Krispy Treats,
Fruit cobblers, Pie and Cake
Any dessert or sweet treat is welcome – and if you have time homemade desserts are always the most favorite!
If your dish contains peanuts or dairy, or if you are providing a gluten free option for folks, please label your dish. Thank you!
More information:
Plates, utensils and napkins will be provided.  Don’t forget to please plan on bringing a serving utensil if your dish requires it.  The disposable varieties are great or bring your own with your name on it.
If you can’t attend, please send food for your student – we will have access to the Band fridge!  Thank you in advance for bringing enough food to share! The kids are EXTRA HUNGRY after a long day of practice! Your support and generosity will go a long way in filling tummies and making happy students as they go out and kick off the Flamingo fundraiser!
Once again if you have any questions or if you can give your time with set up or clean up, please email Emily Gunning at egunning@sbcglobal.net or Missy Strittmatter at mdodge924@gmail.com
Thank you for all you do to make the Anderson Band incredible. We look forward to seeing everyone in the coming weeks and kicking off this year on a great note at the Annual Picnic!
