Percussion Section Basics/FAQ Marching Season - Battery & Pit Battery:the moving-on-the-field part of the Percussion Section Snare, Tenor, Base Drum, Cymbals Pit:the instruments-on-the-side-of-the-field Marimba, Vibraphone, Xylophone, Timpani, Keyboard, etc rehearses Zero-Hour and Mondays with the rest of the Marching Band - additional sectional rehearsals may be called all members of the Pit & Battery are enrolled in a daily Concert Band class as well... Concert Season Concert Band is a full year class There are spring percussion ensembles such as Indoor Drumline. All percussion players may particpate in individual events such as Solo & Ensemble and to audition for District, Region and State Bands.
