The Austin Symphonic Band presents Tito Carrillo, prominent jazz recording artist and professor of jazz trumpet at the University of Illinois.

Tito Carrillo started his trumpet studies at Murchison Middle School and Johnston High School in Austin, then continued at the University of Texas and Northern Illinois University. He is a trumpeter, educator, bandleader, composer and arranger, and since 1996 has been a fixture in the Chicago jazz and Latin music scenes.
Carrillo has played some of the most prestigious venues in the world, including Chicago’s Symphony Center, Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center and London’s Royal Albert Hall. His work has been heard at international jazz festivals in Chicago, Telluride, Montreux and Pori, and at the North Sea Jazz Festival in The Hague.
Tito Carrillo will perform Dreaming of The Masters III for Jazz trumpet and wind band accompaniment by Allan Gilliland. The band will also perform pieces by Morton Gould, Alfred Reed, Clifton Jones and George Gershwin. Richard Floyd and Bill Haehnel will conduct.
