The dancers in our Color Guard are essential to the success of our Trojan Band and have their own set of performances and competitions after band season is over in the form of Winter Guard.

During the Marching Season, our dancers are part of the Trojan Band and Guard. We practice, attend football games, and participate in competitions with over 100 student musicians. We start learning a routine that might include using flags, prop sabers, and other equipment, before school starts at Summer Band Camp, and perfect it as the season goes along at football games and competitions.
Winter Guard is our spring semester class and requires an audition. It’s a competitive, performance-based activity which incorporates choreographed staging, dance, and equipment. Winter Guard performs indoors, usually in a gym or indoor arena, and are accompanied by a sound track, rather than live music.
These classes meet both PE and art requirements. Neither require prior experience but both require a commitment to attend all practices and performances, which include before and after school, as well as a small parent Fair Share, which pays for much of the program.
No student is turned away because of financial need – please reach out to Mr. Nedley if you need assistance.
