Uniforms

Every season, our students wear a uniform that reflects their show. It generally consists of bibbers and a show shirt. Some years it also includes a hat or makeup. These uniforms are sized to each student during Summer Band Camp and are the responsibility of each child to take care of. They are expensive to replace and should be treated with care.

Taking care of your uniform is an important part of being a Trojan Band and Guard member. Learn more about your uniform, your responsibilities, and how to care for all parts of it.

Each student is responsible for keeping their uniform clean and in good condition
Parent volunteers are available before each game and competition to ensure each student’s uniform is in working order – let them know promptly if you have a problem
If a uniform problem arises during a game or competition, the student should talk to their chaperone about a solution
Never cut or attempt to repair your uniform – please reach out to your director about getting help from ABBA
The uniform should be transported in its blue garment bag to and from school
Wear close-fitting running or spandex shorts under the uniform since baggy underwear or shorts will show under the bibbers
Also, students change in front of each other so shorts protect a student’s privacy

Remove velcro inserts
Be careful with snaps and safety pins in pant legs – they have been measured to the student’s legs and must stay in place
Remove paper tag from blue garment bag before washing
Use spot treatment on stains
BAND: Wash in cold water, inside out on the hand wash or delicate cycle
GUARD: Hand wash your uniform in cold water, air dry
Use liquid detergent only
NEVER use bleach
Dry completely on cool or permanent press setting
Hang immediately on completion of dryer cycle
Do not iron – talk to a Uniform Parent if your uniform gets wrinkled
Remember to reinsert paper tag when dry

Each student is given one free pair of marching shoes at the beginning of their band adventure. Only one.
If you outgrow or wear out your shoes, you are responsible for purchasing a new pair (talk to your director if you need financial help with this)
Write your name in sharpie on both of your marching shoes
It is recommended you keep them at school – you MUST have them for marching
If you absolutely don’t have your shoes in time for an event, there are a small number of shoes available to borrow. It must be a rare occurrence.
