Summer Band Camp Meals
Students are responsible for their own meals during Summer Band Camp. Think about sending them with healthy snacks and either a bag lunch or money. Lunches are kept in the band hall, which is fairly cool. There are also a number of restaurants and food trucks within walking distance and many kids go in groups to one of those places.
There are also cold snacks and drinks available through Hillcrest Baptist Church, which is located right behind Anderson @ 3838 Steck Ave, Austin, 78759. These wonderful community supporters host our band students during the lunch hour at their air conditioned gym from Monday, July 27th through Wednesday, August 5th.
– There is a snack bar that sells cold drinks (soft drinks & Gatorade) and assorted snacks for $2 each.
– Free Cold watermelon on Mondays
– Free frozen grapes on Wednesdays & Fridays
– Pizza is available for the students for $1.50 a slice on Wed, Aug. 5th
– The kids can fill their water jugs with ice water before they leave
– Both cash and cards will be accepted
You can also drop food off for your teen during lunch hour, which is around 11:30. On the evenings your student is staying for Flamingo, they will have an hour or so after band camp ends at 4pm to eat before heading out with their flock. Their flock leaders will work with them on the plan.
As always, check out www.andersontrojanband.com for more details about the season.
